“I was referred to Lis Malone by an industry colleague as I searched for a guest speaker for my festival, Queen City Cinephiles film screening for Disabled Persons Awareness. I reached out to Lis and we immediately began communicating, and within 24 hours, I booked Lis to be our special guest speaker for the event.
Lis researched the film content over the next few days and she was more than prepared and professional for the speaking engagement. As a speaker, advocate, and adult living with a Disability, she captivated the audience by keeping it a lively discussion while engaging the audience members. Ideas were shared, and an audience of people who normally feel excluded or marginalized, felt safe to open up and share. Lis is warm, gentle, knowledgeable, and understanding. Although the event is over, I am confident that QCC will maintain a positive relationship with her moving forward.
I encourage you to contact Lis Malone, let her know your needs, and you will not be disappointed.”

"Having worked in television for the last several years and as a writer telling stories both episodically and in feature length films, the importance of getting the details right are vital. Being a writer of color the phrase echoing in the industry has been "representation matters" which is so true. So when I began working on my most ambitious project yet, living in a low vision world beyond my own, I knew I needed help to get it right and represent what matters. Lis Malone has been a guide on that journey. As a writer, she understands story which is incredibly helpful, but beyond that I've found to be an incredibly effective communicator able to make clear all the details that I've missed and provide solutions she thinks not only lend accuracy but enhance story. Because while movies aren't real life, what we pull from real life is what makes a movie special. Representation matters. Getting right matters. And on that quest I'm so fortunate to have Lis Malone help get us to those details that matter with clarity and honesty."
"Lis Malone serves as an inclusion advisor to the One Voice Chorus board (www.onevoicechorus.com) as we work toward a more accessible experience for persons of all abilities, beginning with our March 2020 concert. Unfortunately, the concert was cancelled due to COVID-19, but Lis introduced many new ideas and initiatives we had begun to implement, several of which she herself had volunteered to spearhead. In addition, she generously met with me individually to brainstorm ideas outside the realm of inclusion, to uncover additional marketing solutions for the chorus. Lis has a unique intersectional insight regarding accessibility and inclusion, and she impressed me and the board so much that we have extended an invitation for her to join our Chorus Board of Directors, and continue her valuable work with us. Lis would be an asset to any organization looking to make inroads with diversity, inclusion and accessibility."
